Michael's father-in-law, Joseph Miller, moved his family to Reed township in Seneca county, buying land in Reedtown on October 19, 1863. Michael and Catherine moved with the Millers, buying 80 acres of land next to the Millers for $2000 from John M. Terry of Peru, Huron county. The parcel was 80 acres, the West 1/2 of North-West 1/4 of Section 14 in Township 2 North, Range 17.1 
Deed*He sold property to Joseph Miller on 19 October 1863 in Reed Township, Seneca County, Ohio. Joseph bought 160 acres of land in Reed Township, Seneca County, for $4000. The plot was the NE quarter of section 15, township 2, range 17.2
